NaNoWriMo Update

After much internal deliberation, I have decided to throw in the towel on NaNoWriMo.  I have a lot of personal stuff going on right now and I just started a new job after not working for almost two months.  It's just part-time, but I'm on my feet the entire time and this out of shape body has received quite a shock.  I'm exhausted (and aching)! Finally, the idea I have for my novel is going to require a lot of research and since I didn't get the idea until after NaNoWriMo started, I did not do the research beforehand.  I will still be working on this novel, but at my own pace.  I will look forward to next year and the possibility of signing up again.  So.....

Defeat should never be a source of discouragement, but rather a fresh stimulus.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.

I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

  1. I like that quote. I stopped pretty much after the first day for much of the same reasons. =(

  2. I definitely wouldn't be doing NaNoWriMo if I still had my job.
I'll be looking forward to reading your novel when it comes out :)

  9. I write nonfiction (one book and many articles) so have never signed up for NaNoWriMo, and really don't like that kind of pressure.
Good for you for realizing you need to rearrange your priorities, what with your new job, and you can now write at your own pace.
Let us know how your novel progresses.

  10. You definitely don't need to add to your stress. I think it is amazing that you are working on a novel and of course it has to be done at your own pace. I'm already giving it 5 stars on my blog. I hope things get easier for you!

  11. I used to do the Hallmark cards in a couple of grocery stores part time and was on my feet all of the time. My husband always teased me that as little as I was working I shouldn't be so tired but he has never worked on his feet. Kudos to you for knowing when to say when.
