The second Cat Thursday of each month is Authors and Cats Thursday. Each time I will feature an author with their cat(s), or pictured with a cat(s).

Happy Birthday to Joyce Carol Oates on June 16th! I have featured Ms. Oates several times because she is one of the authors most prolifically photographed with cats. She really must be a cat lover (of course she is. Why would she not? *wink*).

Joyce Carol Oates (June 16, 1938) is a recipient of the National Book Award and the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in Short Fiction. She is also the recipient of the 2005 Prix Femina for The Falls. She is the Roger S. Berlind Distinguished Professor of the Humanities at Princeton University, and she has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters since 1978. Pseudonyms ... I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

    Didn't know Joyce Carol Oates was a cat lover - cats and books seem to have some kind of connection :)
