A bit late since this started on the 7th, but I'm signing up although it may be futile with how busy I've been lately. I do need to finish one book this week for review on Friday so maybe reading under the umbrella of a read-a-thon will get me motivated. I'll try to update a couple of times this week, but I'm not going to do a sticky post because it goes out every day in my MailChimp feed and I don't want to bombard everyone with the same post every day.
Here's what I'll be reading:
Reading mostly just parts of for read-a-longs:
Middlesex, Jeffrey Eugenides
Outlander, Diana Gabaldon
For review on Friday:
I Am Abraham, Jerome Charyn
Also, might start my Classics Spin book, once I find out what it is.
Probably won't be able to squeeze anything else in, but we'll see.

Hi Michelle, I'm going to try it again. Will put your badge on my page. I'm just starting today. Hope it's not too late. Thanks for giving these Read A Thons.
ReplyDeleteBe afraid of Mansfield Park! ;) Looks like some good ones on your list. I couldn't finish MP. It was too self-righteous and boring. But good luck on this! Worthy goals :)
ReplyDeleteI'm safe..haha! Number 20 was the number they picked so looks like Wide Sargasso Sea which I'm pretty pleased about. Been wanting to read it for a while now.
ReplyDeleteHey, Michelle! Glad to see you are joining in the fun :) Who are you doing the read-a-longs with? Are you doing the rest of the Outlander series as read-a-longs? I have only read the first and absolutely loved it. Middlesex is also on my TBR pile and am curious what you think about it.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
I'm still here. Trying to read better for this Read a Thon. I didn't read as much as I wanted yesterday. Did get far enough into The Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet to know the book suits me and is a good one. I wanted to read much further in Twelve Years a Slave. It's wonderful. It's painful but that's to be expected. It's about slavery. Duuuuh! I rec. a brand new book in the mail, The Rose Garden by Kearsley. It's lucious. Read a few pages. I won it. Want to review it.
ReplyDeleteOh! I think Blogger ate my comment. Anyway I hope you enjoy Wide Sargasso Sea! It's one I've been meaning to read for ages.
ReplyDeleteLove the "Five I'm Neutral About" category - doesn't it make you wonder why we've put book on our lists if we don't care one way or another about them?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have some interesting classics to read! I haven't read in the top 5 that you are dreading- but #1 I have heard good things about. I hope it is great. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on these. :)

Thought you might want my link. Am well into two of these books. Hotel is one I've only read about 3 pages. Good luck on your journey.:)
ReplyDeleteGood picks.
