Cat Thursday: Authors and their cats (12)

Welcome to the weekly meme that celebrates the wonders and sometime hilarity of cats! Join us by posting a favorite LOL cat pic you may have come across, famous cat art or even share with us pics of your own beloved cat(s). It's all for the love of cats! Enjoy! (share your post in the Mr. Linky below)

The second Cat Thursday of each month is Authors and their Cats Thursday.  Each time I will feature an author and their cat(s).  This is officially one year for the authors and cats feature of Cat Thursday.   Yay! I have a special image for you below this other business.  =O)

First of all, I have to apologize for not visiting your posts last week.  I finally got a job as a virtual assistant and I spent the end of last week filling out a mountain of contractor paperwork and then this week, I've been training and attending orientation meetings, etc.  All that and then Armchair BEA on top of it and I'm swamped.  So please forgive me.  I promise I will do better.

Those of you who aren't on Facebook probably do not know this, but Arya got a fish hook stuck in her paw on Sunday.  My husband and sons left their fishing poles out.  Great job, guys...not! I had to take her to the emergency vet and she had to have minor surgery.  She was put under for a short time and had to have an IV (they had to shave a little part of her little leg), but it only took a little over an hour for the surgery and her recovery.  She's on antibiotics and she is completely recovered.  She had some bruising on her paw and the first day and a half she was a bit subdued, but now she's her old self again.  Playing with Alice and getting into stuff just like always.  It's lucky I have a job now because it cost me $350! I'm just glad she's okay.  I was really worried. =O(  So, here she is...safe and sound.

This image is a repost, but I had to post it again because Ray Bradbury passed away on Tuesday at the age of 91.  He was an author I greatly admired and I so adored his works.  I was quite upset when I heard the news yesterday.  He will be missed.  I also posted an 'In Memoriam' for him yesterday, if you would like to check it out.  RIP Mr. Bradbury.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.

I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

  1. Poor Arya! I'm glad she's recovering well. Vet bills always make my eyes pop out of my head, so surgery would probably make me feint! ;)

  2. I'm glad Arya is doing okay. Yes, vet bills could be outrageous!

  3. I'm glad Arya is doing better. It's scary when they are ill or injured. It was sad to hear of Ray Bradbury's passing, but he has left a wonderful legacy.

  4. Sweet Ayra, so glad she is okay. I am not surprised to see Ray Bradbury and his cat as your CT post this week. He was a great writer and his book will live on ...

  7. Love the Ray Bradbury picture - more than okay with me to re-post it (though I would have wished for a more merrier reason to be honest..) so glad to hear that Arya is ok.. All the best to you and her! Have a great day - and no stress: I for one plan to have my posts online for some time - so: visit whenever it fits into your schedule! :")

    Have a hug!

  8. I need to apologize for my brain fog today. I honestly thought that today was the second Thursday of the month. That's what happens when you're as busy as I've been lately. LOL! I guess it worked out because I wanted to post Mr. Bradbury with his kitty as a tribute, but I am sorry anyway.
