Winners of my 100+ Followers Giveaway and an announcement

There are three winners! The first winner I drew had only requested World Without End so I was able to draw another winner for The Pillars of the Earth!

The winner of World Without End is:

Laura @ The Calico Critic

The winner of The Pillars of the Earth is:

Ronnica

The winner of Catherine the Great is:

Heather @ The Maiden's Court

Congratulations to all the winners!

I am emailing the winners.  Please respond with your mailing addresses within 72 hours.  If I do not get a response within that time frame, I will pick another winner(s).  Thanks!

Now, an announcement:

Since starting my blog in August, I have entered a TON of contests and giveaways.  I have found that I much prefer the giveaways that only require you to be a follower and leave a comment.  You might ask me, "Well, why don't you just not do all the extra entries?"  I just can't! If the opportunities are there, I try to do them.  But I do get (slightly) annoyed, which isn't the giveaway blog's fault...I could just walk away by leaving a comment only.  People do win with only one entry.  Case in point--one of our winners today won with only one comment! Okay, okay...get on with it, I know! What I'm proposing is that from now on the only requirements for my giveaways will be that you must be a follower (I do verify) and leave a comment with your email.  Easy peasy! After tallying this contest's entries, my head was spinning so it will be a lot easier on me too! I don't know how the people with hundreds and hundreds of followers do it! Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this new guideline.  I hope I haven't ruffled any feathers.  I'm just trying to make it easier on everyone!

I'm planning a giveaway on my challenge blog when I reach 40 followers.  If you're not already following, head over and follow.  Just click my challenge blog button at the top of my left sidebar.  Thanks!

Congratulations again to the winners!

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.

I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

  1. Congrats to the winners!

I think your new requirement is great :) Love the smiling cat picture lol. And so funny you used the Lady Godiva pic at the bottom...I just found that piece of art the other day and am trying to make it into a header!

  2. Congratulations to the winners! :)

I am with you on all the hoops to jump through on giveaways. I usually have a question to answer and that gets you in the giveaway. There are bonus entries but you do not need to do them. I have seen a few where they list all the "have to's" in order to even enter and I just back out of the site. Too much :)

    Have a great day!

  3. I like the less hoops the better!! I want my contest entering and contest giving to be easy and fun. I have been to some blogs that you have to do ten separate things and then go back daily!!! Yikes.. I do not do that anymore, I do not mind posting on my sidebar for the contests. I do agree about being a follower though, that should be a given!!
    Take Care Michelle!!

  4. I like your new method. I'm only online a couple of times a week, I don't Twitter, and I have another (off line) life. It's fun to enter a contest, I don't mind answering a question and being a follower, of course.
As for "post this on your blog", "follow on facebook", "get a friend to join", etc. I'm not that kind of person, and my particular blog isn't an advertisement for other people.
    Thanks for being considerate.

  5. You know, it's super awesome that people DO giveaways. If they want to put a bunch of rules on it, so be it! I'll still sign up if it is something I really am interested in.
I'm more with you. All I really want is to atleast be followed ( and hopefully not immediately unfollowed after the contest is done..:( ) A comment is good too!

Facebook is a different world for me than my blog. Twitter annoys me (sorry!) and anything else I'm just not that tech savvy enough to understand!

You do it however you wish, my dear!!!

BTW< I love commenting on your blog because not only are you interesting to read and fun to read, but I LOVE your music so I just keep typing and listen away!

    Okay, I'll go now....

  6. Congrats to the winners.

Michelle, I have to agree with you on the entries for contests. Thats partly why on my giveaway I am only doing it with one entry. It is just so much easier with the crazy life here at home and work.

  7. Thanks everyone for stopping by! Glad to see so many in agreement with me on the whole contest thing. Whew...one less thing to stress about! LOL!

Michelle--Thank you so much! That really means a lot from one of my most loyal followers =O)

  9. At the end of the day you can run your contests however you like, but I say the simpler the better. I don't even do the you have to be a follower thing, mainly because I choose to read my feeds through a feed reader (in my case Bloglines but a lot of other people use Google Reader) and I dont want to have follow through Blogger as well.

If a contest is for a book I REALLY want I will still enter but won't do all the jumping through hoops stuff!

  10. Congratulations to all of the winners!

Here's another vote for simple entries! The only time I offer extra entries is if I'm hosting a giveaway to promote a book and need to get the word out. If I'm the one giving the book away, then a simple comment will do.

Keep up the good work! :)
