Classics Club Spin #40

And the spin landed on #4....The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde....to be finished by April 11.

What is the spin?

At your blog, before Sunday, February 16 create a post that lists twenty books of your choice that remain "to be read" on your Classics Club list.

This is your Spin List.

You have to read one of these twenty books by the end of the spin period.

On Sunday, February 16, we'll post a number from 1 through 20. The challenge is to read whatever book falls under that number on your Spin List by April 11, 2025.

For full details and to join in, visit the Classics Club blog here.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.

I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

  1. Your list is fantastic!! The Phantom of the Opera, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and A Room With a View are ones I have read, and I absolutely loved them! There are several that are on my TBR list (which is practically its own mind palace/library), especially the Gogol. I've only read a few of his short stories, but I think he might be a new favorite of mine!

Happy spinning! Whatever you get, I hope it's one you'll love!

  2. I'm pretty sure I read Murder in the Cathedral when I was in school, but that was SO long ago, I could be wrong! I'm curious about In Search of Dracula, so that might be a nice one for you to get. Good luck!

  3. Here I am, a huge reader all my life, and it's just recently that I've even put Gogol on my list. Sigh. So many good books. Truly.

    1. I only learned of Gogol about six or so years ago and that was through a series I watched on streaming based on his work. It's very horror and fantasy...and it's foreign language...and it is so good! It's called Gogol and you can watch it for free on Tubi.
