A Reading Life (24)

Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? I can't! I actually have all the presents wrapped and under the tree. First time in years!

Listening To:  I finished listening to A Christmas Carol a few days ago. My favorite! Now, I'm back to the Christmas music. We have two radio stations here in Nashville that play all Christmas all the time until Christmas. Yay!

Books finished:

none

Reading:
Winter Solstice, Rosamunde Pilcher
The Snowman Maker, Barbara Briggs Ward
Catching Fire, Suzanne Collins

Coming Up:
It's not looking like I'll be doing much more Christmas reading. I'm hoping to finish Winter Solstice tomorrow and The Snowman Maker by Wednesday. Then I might be able to start something else. I need to decide what my first read of 2014 is going to be too.

Watching: Christmas movies on TV and some favorites I own. I enjoyed the mini-series, Bonnie and Clyde. Can't wait for Michael Buble's Christmas special Wednesday night.

Making: Bought the stuff to make sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies, Snickerdoodles, pumpkin cookies, and peanut butter blossom cookies. Need to start planning my Christmas dinner menu. I think the boys and I are going to eat dinner with mom on Christmas Eve. Craft-wise, I'm making some special gifts for a few people.

Grateful for: the small kindnesses I witness around here and there. They may be few and far between, but I notice them nonetheless. Must be the season!

Looking forward to: my shopping is done so now I can concentrate on the fun stuff with my boys. Their last day of school is Friday (half day), but I think we're going to start driving around to look at lights. Yes, even on a school night. =O)

I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

  2. How did you like Catching Fire?
I thought it was OK (http://manoflabook.com/wp/?p=9970), more of a setup for the third book
