TTBA WEEKLY NEWS AND MAILBOX MONDAY

First off, I have a couple of milestones to celebrate with you.  I passed 400 followers a couple of weeks ago! Woo hoo! I love my followers and I appreciate every one of you who takes the time to read my blog.  I wish I could offer you a giveaway this time, but I still haven't mailed out the books from my last giveaway (My apologies to those of you who won--I will start sending them out this week and I will email you when I do)! My family has been going through some incredible financial hardship and I have not had any success finding a job so even having money to mail books has not been possible.  Things seem to be getting better.  I've been really looking for jobs and I hope I will get something soon.  *fingers crossed*  My two year blogoversary is early next month and I'm hoping to be able to offer some kind of giveaway.  =O)

Another milestone...my fiction books in my home library topped 2000 this weekend! I still can't believe sometimes that I have so many books (with non-fiction, etc., I have 3000+)! Right now, I only have my fiction cataloged so I can't wait to get them all listed so I can get an exact count.  Then I might just have to faint!

Christmas in July is in full swing over at The Christmas Spirit.  If you feel in the mood for a little Christmas cheer on these hot days, why not stop by and visit.  It's all in fun and if you're embarassed, you don't have to tell anyone.  Your secret is safe with me!

Just a reminder about the High Summer Read-a-Thon at the end of the month.  Just wanted to clarify that it is a week long event, but you do not have to participate the entire week.  I created my read-a-thons in the week long format so that people who work through the week can do the weekend and people who work weekends can join in during the week.  If you would like to find out more and/or sign up, go HERE.  Would love to have you!

We begin our discussion of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson on #TuesBookTalk tomorrow night on Twitter (10:30pm EST).  If you can't join us there, you can share your thoughts over in the discussion forum on Goodreads HERE.  We are discussing Prologue and Part I of the book this first week.

I'm not going to talk about what I'm reading since I'm doing the Once Upon a Read-a-Thon this week and I've already listed what I'm reading there.

Anything new with you since last week?

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia and is currently on tour.  This month's host is Gwendolyn at A Sea of Books.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.

I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

  5. Congrats on the followers! You deserve all of them.

If I had that many books, I think I would try to build a fort out of them. Just to see if i could do it, without falling down on my head.
