It's time! The read-a-thon has officially started. If you signed up beforehand (or even if you didn't) be sure to sign-in at the linky when you start reading. You can link your post about what you're reading or just link to your blog. No blog? Link from Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads. Remember, you can join in at any time during the week. You do not have to sign in until you start reading. As long as you sign in at some time during the week and complete a wrap up post (and link it) at the end, you will be eligible for the participant giveaway. Periodic updates would be nice, but that is not set in stone either. We will also be tweeting at #HSreadathon. You can link your updates there too if you want. Check back tomorrow because I will be listing all the giveaways and prizes and I will post my mini-challenge details and any mini-challenges be hosted by other blogs.
I'm going to try to stay offline as much as possible this week, except for what pertains to the read-a-thon. I will post my TTBA Weekly News/Mailbox Monday, possibly a review, Cat Thursday, and I have to continue with my Christmas in July over at my The Christmas Spirit blog.
Here's what I'm planning on reading this week:
--Catch up on To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf for a read along
--Finish The Widow of the South by Robert Hicks for a read along
--read Vlad: The Last Confession by C.C. Humphreys
--read part III of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson for TuesBookTalk
--might do some reading in a couple of writing books
--???
--??

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.
I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

Have signed up!:) Thanks for hosting this, Michelle. Happy reading!!
ReplyDeleteI am really excited! :) I have posted my reading list.
ReplyDeleteWe both have Larsson on our book list! I have a problem with Woolf .. I've started Mrs. Dalloway probably three times and haven't been able to finish it (but I've promised myself that I WILL finish it this year!); hopefully, To The Lighthouse is easier to get into! :) Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI'm here. So excited I can't stand it. Have linked up. Bye, I'm going to read.
ReplyDeleteGood luck everybody~
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh ... I want YOUR books to read! I'm getting ready to bite the bullet and pick up the George R. R. Martin books as soon as there's room for them to fit on my TBR bookshelf. The Lantern - I recently read about this one, and it looks GREAT. Good luck! Your college opens much earlier than my daughter's - she doesn't go until the third week of August!
ReplyDeleteI read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last year and loved it! I hope you do as well.
ReplyDeleteWell, off to read now, thanks for hosting.
Hi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI'm on page 50 of Their Eyes... by Hurston. Just checking in. Added my Harry Potter....
Hi!
ReplyDeleteMine list is posted. I'm off to read. Have a great day!

Michele, I'm sorry. I'm withdrawing from the ReadaThon. Thanks for having me.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first readathon and I am really excited to be here! I don't have a blog so I linked to my Facebook page, where I will be posting my updates. I'm also on Twitter (@jwitt33) so if I have time, I may post there as well. I have SO many books on my TBR lists (200+ on my Kindle alone!) and at least 15 books I have to review, so I am going to use my time wisely:) Thanks so much for having me!

Good luck on your readathon!
ReplyDeleteI have to withdraw before I sign up. Something came up that will take most all of my week. Thanks, Michelle for the info.
ReplyDeleteJust posted my list and I'm ready to go! :)
ReplyDeleteSigned up, and ready to hunker down & read for a few days, but couldn't find the guidelines for this readathon. What are we supposed to do?
ReplyDeleteIn the absence of understanding, I'm creating my own commitment:
ReplyDelete* Finish Roots, but break up the posts for Laura @ Booksnob's read-along.
* Read two sections of Tolstoy to get ahead on my own War & Peace read-along.
* Read all of Deerskin, in honor of my pal, Dana.
* Finish Blessing of the Animals, written by another pal, Brenda Miller.
* Read 3 graphic novels: Marvels, The Odyssey, and Dante's Divine Comedy.
I'm figuring 3-6 hrs./day (at least) of just sitting here reading...
Hope that works.
I'll be finishing The Faith Club and starting a Thich Nhat Hanh title.
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting together another awesome readathon.
ReplyDeleteI'll try to get a post up some time tomorrow (I'm so tired at the moment after volunteering today). I've an epic fail when it came to reading today...and yesterday as well. =/
