First, I want to get some details out of the way. Since I have such a large amount of prizes, I'm doing things a little differently. Instead of doing a participant giveaway at the end with one or a few prizes, I'm going to do participant giveaways all week. I will also have a few mini-challenges this week as well. I'm sorting out the prizes and I will have a prize page posted tomorrow. Each time someone wins, they will get to choose a prize from the prize page, kind of like how they do it for Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon's. Each prize will (books) have info about the book and the author so you can make a conscious decision. LOL! International and U.S. only prizes will be stipulated by each prize and the prizes will be awarded on a first response basis. I will have the winner email me with their prize selection and then I will mark that one off the list. I hope this is to everyone's satisfaction.
Note: I will not be included in any of my giveaways here at The True Book Addict, but since I am participating in the read-a-thon as well, I will enter mini-challenges and giveaways at other blogs. If anyone objects, please let me know.
I will also be posting all of the mini-challenge hosts and giveaway hosts in a separate post so be watching for it. It will be up later this morning.
If you're on Twitter, be sure to check in with us at #WintersRespite.
SIGN IN AT THE LINKY BELOW. This is the first mini-challenge. Do a post of what you're reading this week, take a picture of your read-a-thon TBR stack, or, if you've already done your post, just add your link below. If you don't have a blog, you can link to Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads. Remember, what you list is not set in stone. You're welcome to change you mind. Above all else, just have fun! If you talk to someone else who is doing the read-a-thon, be sure to ask them if they've signed in. We don't want anyone to miss out on all the goodies!
This mini-challenge is open until Saturday at 8:00 am CST to give weekend participants a chance to join in.
I started my Read-A-Thon about an hour ago. I am looking forward to getting a few books read this week.

Thanks for the event Michelle!
Signed in. Now off to the books.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning! Have a great reading week everyone!
ReplyDeleteWhat perfect timing I have. I finished the last pages of "Red Mist" this morning, so I get to start a new book just in time for the Winter's Respite. :) Thanks for hosting Michelle.
ReplyDeleteUpdated my initial post with my start-up book.
ReplyDeleteThe starting line challenge wasn't so bad, LOL. Here's my post http://tiffany-a-higgins-book-reviews-news.blogspot.com/2012/01/time-for-another-read-thon.html
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Everyone!!
Yeeey, put up my starting line post and my list :D
ReplyDeleteGood luck everyone, and happy reading! xDDD
I'll be reading Love Thy Neighbor by Mark Gilleo, an ARC from The Story Plant
ReplyDeleteI plan to get my blogging/business issues done then settle in and read. I will be starting off with Love Thy Neighbor by Mark Gilleo, an ARC that will be published on 3/28, by The Story Plant and will be touring with Partners In Crime Tours, which I am a partner in.
ReplyDeleteSo excited to start this! I have so many books I want to read this week, but I know I won't get through ALL of them. But I am hoping to take a big chunk of them off my TBR list this week. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy post and mini reading challenge can be found here http://booktalkswithcharla.blogspot.com/2012/01/winters-respite-read-thon-january-23-29.html
ReplyDeleteI started the Read-A-Thon at 1:35am EST this morning. So far, I've read 40 pages of "My Lady of Cleves."
ReplyDelete*yay* happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteCan I change my linky? I just put one to my normal blog and not to the read-a-thon post. :(
ReplyDeleteHere it is: http://tattoogirlreads.wordpress.com/2012/01/23/read-a-thon-a-winters-respite-read-a-thon/
Im here, Im here. Dragging up the rear of course. LOL Ahhhhh, I am worth waiting for! LMAO Good luck to all.;
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that everyone is so excited! So am I! Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I will be visiting you via the linky. I'm also working on the mini-challenge/giveaway post for what other's blogs/authors are hosting and also the prize page. Bear with me folks!
ReplyDeleteTattoogirlreads--I will change the link for you. No problem!
Hello, I'm Nicolas. I'm very excited for the read-a-thon, but I still don't know the starting date. Help?
ReplyDeleteNow that I've attended my book club, written a post, spent some time with my husband, and started some laundry, I can finally start reading!
ReplyDeleteNicolas--it started today and this post is actually where you sign-in to participate. Link to your blog, Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads.
ReplyDeleteHi Joli! Have fun reading!
I'm excited!
ReplyDeleteI signed in above since you stopped by and told me to :-) , but I'm not doing the mini-challenge with the photo; I'm just reading this week. Hope that's okay! Just delete me if I shouldn't have Mr. Linkied. :-D Thanks for hosting, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteJillian,
ReplyDeleteNo, not deleting you. You didn't have to post a photo anyway...that's totally optional. So, in my opinion, you're in. Plus, there are daily participant giveaways so that's why I wanted you to be signed in.
I'm glad you're joining me and I hope you enjoy the read-a-thon.
M
I'm reading! I'll have my giveaway post up this morning!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this. Whew, I need it. Should be fun.
ReplyDeleteAll signed in! This is a great way to thin out my TBR.
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't sign in yesterday! I read THE NIGHT CIRCUS :) http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/215877277
ReplyDeleteI posted my sign up today during my lunch break :)
