48 HOUR BOOK CHALLENGE: THE START AND GOALS

Here I am at the start of another read-a-thon! This is the 48 Hour Book Challenge hosted by MotherReader. The start is anytime after 7:00am Friday and end by 7:00am Monday.  I'm going to start at 12:15pm (in approx. 10 minutes).  I'm not going to commit to a set amount of time, but I will read for the required minimum of 12 hours for sure.  I'm not really going to commit to a set reading list either, but I will probably read the following:

  • (catch up on) John Adams
  • (finish) The Crimson Petal and the White (for TuesBookTalk)
  • (finish) Dante's Journey
  • undecided

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.

I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

  1. Relaxed sounds like the way to go! I too am not setting any specific guidelines for myself...I won't be joining in the challenge officially until tomorrow.

  2. Good luck! I've also started and I'm like you - just see how it goes. I have a few books lined up but I have no idea whether I can get through them all. Well, if it's like a normal read-a-long, I won't get half done of what I want.

But hey, it's fun and it's nice to meet up with other participants.

  4. Oh, yeah, I completely forgot about this but I've got to get over and sign up. That's help me insist on a quiet weekend for relaxing.

  5. I currently have The Crimson Petal and the White sitting on my shelf in my TBR pile-I can't wait to read your review. It's my first visit to your site. Love it-I'm a new follower. Good luck with your reading.

  6. I can't wait to see what you think of John Adams. I read 1776 years ago, but have heard Adams is better.

    Happy reading!

  8. I kept my own constraints and books relaxed this time through as well. I find that it's better when I select the books according to mood and what I need then, rather than a plan I set up in the beginning. Good luck!
