Although I had not finished the book, I went to see New Moon on Saturday anyway because my mom...and, okay, I...couldn't wait! Can I just say that I absolutely loved this movie?! I'm not going to go in to an extensive review or anything. However, I will say that before this movie, I was totally Team Edward, but by the middle of the movie, I found myself playing for both teams...LOL! Of course, I ended up staunchly back on Team Edward by the end of the movie, but I still have to throw some cred at Jacob (Taylor Lautner). He can really hold his own. I thought the effects in New Moon were much better than Twilight (big surprise...larger budget anyone!) The werewolves were amazing! And I also enjoyed the edition of the Volturi characters. Michael Sheen (Aro) was spot on, as usual. And Dakota Fanning (Jane)...genuinely creepy with the red eyes. As the final words of the movie were spoken, I said to my mom, "Now I really can't wait to finish the book!"

They really did better with New moon. And I have to say (though it pains me to) that Taylor Lautner did a decent job. But I'm still on Team Edward! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED New Moon! I have already saw it three times :D And I'm going back on Tuesday to see it with a friend. I have decided that I'm totally Team Edward for the books but Team Jacob for the movies ;) Taylor can ACT! He is the Jacob I always had in my head. Rob is not the Edward in my head.
ReplyDeleteYou got me more excited, lol. I did hear this one is more like the book. The only thing about that I don't like is, New Moon was my least favorite out of all them. It wasn't bad, but I'm Team Edward :).
ReplyDeleteI am hoping, cross my fingers, to see it on MOnday afternoon!
ReplyDeleteI am on Team Edward as well, but I agree that for a while in the movie I was kinda leaning toward Team Jacob. When he took his shirt off--whoah! The movie was much better than Twilight. I will be taking my daughter to see it sometime this week. I wasn't sure because she is only 7, but she saw Twilight, so it should be fine for her to see it. She has seen all the previews. Can't wait to see it again! I also can't wait for the next movie next year!
ReplyDeleteI just watched Twilight on DVD last weekend. Not impressed. But I never read the books. I bought the first two for my niece but she informed me today that Twilight stuff is lame. So I didn't want to borrow hers and be uncool:) Maybe someday i will read them
ReplyDeleteI thought Twilight the movie could definitely have been better done but there is almost nothing I would change about New Moon. I loved how faithful it was to the book and the acting skills have increased tenfold. I'm glad to see you enjoyed it as much as I did!
ReplyDeleteAs you know I'm not a big fan, never finished the first book let alone the other ones, but I do have to say I'm on team Jacob simply on looks. He is hella hotter than Edward.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, the feel of Twilight(movie)was simple and uncomplicated to me, kind of "Indie" like the book. With the addition of the Wolves, and the Volturi in New Moon, things get complicated, so it only makes sense for the movie to be better. I am team Edward, not based on looks, but his history with Bella. Jacob can def. hold his own, and is hotttt!!! I felt sorry for Jacob, and felt a little miffed at Bella, for leading him on! You can't have your cake and eat it too, or can you?
ReplyDeleteI agree - the special effects were much better. I like that Edward really sparkled this time.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with some of the other comments. . . Edward is hotter is the book, but Jacob is shining much better on the big screen! :-)
I hope you finish the book and continue on with Eclipse - it's my favorite book in the Saga!
