UPDATE: I broke down and installed Google Chrome. Thought I would break out of my comfort zone and give it a try. Go me! Wish me luck. =O)
....to say the least! I upgraded my browser on Friday to Internet Explorer 9 and I was so thrilled because one, it is super fast, and two, it gives me a lot more screen view (no double toolbar at the top, etc.). However, the frustration is with Blogger. Why am I not able to comment in the embedded comment format? Surely, this is a known issue with Blogger. Isn't this something they can fix? I can't believe the number of contests I'm missing out on because I can't comment AND there have been so many blogs I've wanted to comment on since Friday, but can't because of this BS! I know I could switch to Google Chrome or Firefox, but I'm happy with IE....I'm used to it. Last week, I switched all my blogs back to the embedded comment form and now I remember why I switched to the pop-up comment format in the first place. Many of my followers could not comment. So I have switched back all blogs to the pop-up format. Anyway, what I want to ask my fellow bloggers is...did you know that many bloggers cannot comment in the embedded comment format....and would you be willing to switch to a different format, if you knew this was true? Just wondering!
So if you notice me not stopping by and commenting, if you have the embedded comment format, that is why.
Okay, rant over!

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.
I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

Bear with me. I am totally confused. Maybe it is due to my lack of sleep.
ReplyDeleteWhat is an embedded comment? What is a pop-up comment? (I am on Blogger too and I don't think anyone has been having any trouble)....what do I have?
I stopped using I.E. MONTHS ago. I HATE IT. I.E. is extremely prone to viruses.....
I installed Google Chrome back in the Fall and overall I am a zillion times happier with it than I ever was with I.E.
i LOVE chrome! I've used them all & it just works best for me. but issues with commenting? still?
ReplyDeleteI have embeded comments & have had no issues - in any browser.
is there possibly another issue? I'd be happy to help -- reginahott at gmail dot com
have you checked your settings - b/c embedded comments requires that you enable third party cookies...
ReplyDeleteI used to swear by I.E., then had to switch to Google Chrome to get something else to work properly. I've since fallen in love with Google Chrome and will never switch back. I did try Firefox like a year ago or something, but I had some problem with it, can't remember now...
ReplyDeleteI've never had anyone complain about embedded comments on my blog, I wish I knew how to help you there.
I was having some problems with IE and blogger (not with comments but with formatting issues). I installed Chrome about 2 weeks ago and LOVE it! Hope it works for you.
ReplyDeleteI was having a lot of internet issues and the first thing hubby talked me into changing was from Mozilla to Chrome and I am so happy I did. I love it. My only complaint is that when you do a new post, it completely bypasses the dashboard which is faster but I have to make an effort to remember to check Google Reader or go to the dashboard so I can see what everyone is up to, so my visiting of other blogs has taken a hit.
ReplyDeleteJust today, I used my daughter's laptop because she is home for Spring Break and we now know it's my netbook that has issues, not the internet. This laptop loads everything so fast, I am truly getting spoiled.
Hope you get all your issues worked out!!

You know I didn't know that happened with the imbedded formate. Hm, interesting to learn. Hope it all starts to work out for you> :)
ReplyDeleteI've been using Mozilla Firefox for a few years and didn't think I was having any problems with it but then I didn't know that the different browsers would work differently with Blogger.
