Dear Readers...a question?

As many of you know, I was quite ill with strep throat a couple of weeks ago and there was a fear that I might have mono.  Well, I had a relapse over the weekend and as of today, I'm not much better.  I'll probably go to the doctor tomorrow and get tested.  Please God, don't let it be mono!

Anyway, just when I thought things couldn't get any worse...I have actually lost one of the books I was reading! I put down Cardboard (Fiona Place) temporarily so I could get Anastasia's Secret (Susanne Dunlap) read for a blog tour and now I can't find it anywhere! I have never misplaced a book--that I was in the process of reading--in my life.  My apologies to Ms. Place as it looks like there will be further delay on my review until I can hunt down the book.  Shall I place a big "L" on my forehead?!

So, tell me dear readers, have you ever lost a book you were in the middle of reading (please tell me I'm not the only one)?!

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment. It means so much.

I apologize for word verification, but as soon as I changed the settings from only users with Google accounts, I started receiving a ton of spam comments...within one hour of changing the settings. The bots are on high alert apparently.

  1. Yeah I've misplaced a book before. I've misplaced other things too. I still can't explain the earring back being in the closet. I'm sure you'll find it. Hope it isn't Mono and that you feel better soon.

  2. You poor thing--hoping it's not mono too! Take care of yourself and feel better soon.

Yes, quite awhile ago, I was reading Gore Vidal's Lincoln. I was on a business trip and left it in a hotel room when I checked out. I was about three-quarter of the way through it--thought it okay, but not great, and never got another copy and never finished it.

  3. Thanks guys! I'm starting to feel better already...about the lost book, that is! At least I'm not the only one. =O)

  4. Yep. Two years ago, a copy of Birds of a Feather, the second Maisie Dobbs book, fell out of my pocket when I was on holiday in London. I wasn't enjoying it much and found it a bit of a relief. (Perhaps I should put the book I'm reading now out in my coat pocket and go for a walk with it.)

  6. Find it soon and get feeling better. Just know that we all love you and are wishing the best for you. I did misplace a book and had to rebuy it, recently too, I just wish I could remember what it was.

  7. So sorry you're still not feeling well! Fingers crossed it's not mono and you get better ASAP!

While I've never lost a book I'm reading, I have misplaced books. I know I own certain titles, but when I go look for them, can't find them anywhere. So rest assured, you're not the only one! :)

  8. Teresa--haha! That's an idea, right?!

    Thanks Stephanie. =O)

Ryan--Awww...thank you Ryan! You are so sweet. I remember you talking about misplacing a book, but I can't remember what it was either!

Alexia--I have so many books laying around the house that I'm not reading because my library is in desperate need of major reorganizing! If you saw the state it's in now, you would think I was one of those hoarders like on TV...LOL! Thanks for the support. I'm finally starting to feel better. Just hoping I don't have another relapse!

  9. Yup, done that, but not in a long, long time. Middle school, to be exact. Worst of it was, it was a book borrowed from a friend. I dropped it somewhere between my locker and the orchestra room, and it never even showed up in lost and found. Hope whoever picked it up enjoyed it!

Here's hoping you find your book and feel better soon!

  10. I left a terrific thriller on a plane and couldn't remember the title, just the plot. Took years to find it again but it was worth it...if I could just remember which one it was..

  11. First I do hope you get better!!!

Now, being as sick as you have been, I understand misplacing a book. I know when you feel that bad you can set something somewhere and not remember where that place was. So, don't worry about it. But, to answer the question have I ever lost a book part way through.... Just remember I have only been seriously reading for about three years now... sorry to say, no. :)

    Hope you feel better soon!
