SIGN UP FOR A WINTER'S RESPITE READ-A-THON
The read-a-thon is one week away and I'm super excited...can't wait for an excuse to sit around and read! I don't care what needs to be done around the house (aside from my writing goals). I'm going to read, read, read! Here are the dates and times for the read-a-thon: Monday, January 17 at 12 am until Sunday, January 23 at 11:59 pm (adjust your time zone as appropriate...I'm on central time). As I'm pretty sure there are no other read-a-thons that week (I checked and double checked so as to not intrude on someone else's event), we will be using #readathon hashtag on Twitter. I would really appreciate any help in spreading the word. Also, if there are any bloggers and/or authors out there who would like to host a mini-challenge/giveaway during the event, please email me at truebookaddictATgmailDOTcom. Also, please email me or leave a comment if you have any questions. You can sign up and participate at any time during the read-a-thon...this is a flexible event. I hope you will join me for a week of reading fun!

NEW RELEASE: THE VIRTUAL LIFE OF FIZZY OCEANS BY DAVID A. ROSS
JUST PUBLISHED
The Virtual Life of Fizzy Oceans by David A. Ross
Meet Fizzy Oceans—archivist, researcher, environmentalist and adventurer. On her travels she witnesses The Exodus, the Battle of Gettysburg and Hurricane Katrina, as well as many other historical and real time events. She meets notable individuals including Gandhi, Mark Twain, Jacques Cousteau, The Dalai Lama, Saddam Hussein and even a new species called the Quinngen.
Such unique experiences and encounters spanning the world and time as we know them would not be possible for a single individual—especially not for a woman named Amy Birkenstock who works as a medical clerk in Seattle, Washington—but Fizzy Oceans, Amy’s digital alter ego, is not in Physical Life. She lives, works and travels in the virtual world where the dead are very much alive, places like ancient Babylon and Pompeii have been reconstructed, and with the click of a button—WHOOSH!—one is transported throughout the Ages to events and destinations that make up our human history.
Even as Amy’s physical life existence is challenged by encroaching environmental disaster, economic instability, and societal breakdown, Fizzy’s virtual world offers instant realization of vision and inspiration. The Virtual Life of Fizzy Oceans imagines the bridging of two worlds—the literal and the metaphorical—and questions what it is we have created, what has been lost, and what might be possible for us as individuals and for the Human Race.
Available now from Amazon
Also available in .ePub format, .prc format (for Kindle) and PDF format at Open Books Direct
Watch for my review before March 31.

ANNOUNCING A WINTER'S RESPITE READ-A-THON...AND A REMINDER
My Fall Catch-Up Read-A-Thon was such a success and many people expressed an interest in me doing similar read-a-thons seasonally so....here is the winter season read-a-thon, A Winter's Respite Read-A-Thon! Like the Fall read-a-thon, this will be a week long event. I decided to start it on Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, January 17, since many people are off work or school that day and it will run through Sunday, January 23. As before, this will be a read-a-thon that anyone can join at any point. I made it a week long so that people who work during the week can do it on the weekend and people who work on the weekends can do it on the weekdays. Very flexible...no page competitions or the like. I would welcome mini-challenges or giveaways so if you're a blogger or an author and would like to host a mini-challenge or sponsor a giveaway, please contact me at truebookaddictATgmailDOTcom I will have the official sign up posted some time this week so be watching for it. I hope you will join me once again for a week of terrific reading!
Just a quick reminder: My Sharing the Joy Christmas Book Extravaganza Giveaway is still going on through January 6th. I'm giving away six Christmas book and there will be 3 winners. Go HERE to enter!

OUT WITH A BANG READ-A-THON WRAP-UP
I'm not even going to talk about how miserably I failed at this read-a-thon. Just had too much end of year blog stuff to take care of plus the boys are still off for Christmas break. Can't get much good reading when they're bugging me constantly...LOL! I didn't participate in any mini-challenges or giveaways because I was trying to get some good reading in, but alas....
Stay tuned for the announcement of my A Winter's Respite Read-A-Thon coming up this month!
