Clean Sweep ARC Challenge May 2013

I'm signing up for this. Hoping to knock out some of my astronomical pile of review copies I can't seem to get to. I swear, once you get behind, you can never catch up! It sure seems that way. Anyway, you can see my review books TBR list HERE.  Right now, I'm reading The Arrow Chest by Robert Parry and Silk Road by Colin Falconer. I hope I can get to more this month.

Here I am participating in another Review Copy Cleanup, hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea and Celine at Nyx Book Reviews.  I know there's no way I'm going to complete all of them (I would have to be the bionic reader), but I'm going to really try to cross at least a few off the list.  I also have three tours this month, but they're spaced far apart so shouldn't be too bad.

Review Copy Cleanup Wrap-Up and Final Challenge

Well, I only managed to complete three of my review books for March so I hardly made a dent in my to-be-reviewed pile.  Here's what I read and reviewed:

At the Mercy of the Queen by Anne Clinard Barnhill (review)
The Turning of Anne Merrick by Christine Blevins (review)
The Sister Queens by Sophie Perinot (review)

I was so busy in March that I didn't get to participate in any of the challenges, except for the first one.  Every time I would think of doing one, the time would be up.  That's me...a day late and a dollar short! Anyway, the final challenge is the Love Will Find a Way Challenge.  In this challenge, we are to share our all-time favorite book.  The book (or books) we would have to have with us on a deserted island (they're not limiting us to pick only one...good thing!).  Here are my top ten favorites (in no particular order except for the first one):

Review Copy Clean-Up: Challenge 1--Show Off Your Pile

Okay, people, prepare yourself for the horror that is extreme review copy backlog! I'm going to have three separate lists for you.  Books for review for tours this month (I'm not including any for later months, as this is a March event), the never ending hard copy to-be-reviewed pile, and the impossibly long list of to-be-reviewed eBooks.  It's quite a nightmare.  I probably should have posted this on my horror blog.  It would have fit right in over there.  *L*  Now I know there is no way I will get through all of these this month, but having them listed down here (and I'm going to create a page with a list here on the blog so I can cross them off as I go) perhaps shall light ye ole fire under me derriere (my attempt at medieval speak) because let's face it, if getting behind on review books was a punishable offense in the middle ages, I would be facing the executioner's block, noose, pyre...you can choose my imaginary punishment.  ;O)  Oh, the horror....

Here goes (all titles are linked to Goodreads for book descriptions):

Book Tour Books for March:

At the Mercy of the Queen by Anne Clinard Barnhill  (tour review 3/9)
The Turning of Anne Merrick by Christine Blevins (tour review 3/12)
The Sister Queens by Sophie Perinot (tour review 3/26)

Hard Copies To-Be-Reviewed:

Starting from top of left pile and continuing up
from bottom of right pile

To Be Queen by Christy English
Silk Road by Colin Falconer
Bending the Boyne by J.S. Dunn
Blood and Silk by Carol McKay
The Arrow Chest by Robert Parry

The Lucifer Code by Charles Brokaw

Probability Angels by Joseph Devon
White Seed by Paul Clayton
The Hum and the Shiver by Alex Bledsoe
Unrest in Eden by Florence B. Weinberg
The Secret of a Spicy Jalapeno by Charlie Courtland
Blood of my Brother by James LePore
A World I Never Made by James LePore
Anyone Can Die by James LePore (three short stories)

eBooks To-Be-Reviewed:

A Soul to Steal by Rob Blackwell
Alone in the Company of Others by Kelly Huddleston
American Horror edited by Scott Nicholson
Asenath by Anna Patricio
A Career Guide to Your Job in Hell edited by Scott S. Phillips and Robert E. Vardeman
Decayed Etchings by Brandon Ford
The Devil Stood Up by Christine Dougherty
Honor and Entropy by Arthur Spevak and J.E. Rainey

Where Darkness Dwells by Glen Krisch
Where the Dead Fear to Tread by M.R. Gott
Witch Hunt by Devin O'Branagan
Y by Bonnie Rozanski

Hey, it's only a bit over 40.  On one girl's blog, she said she had over 80 so I guess I'm not the worst...but I'm pretty darn close!

How about you?  Is your review copy pile as ridiculous as mine?

Happy reading!

Review Copy Cleanup

Okay, I'm probably going to regret this, but if you saw my review book pile (which you will soon), you would understand why I'm going to attempt this.  I had to put a halt on accepting review copies until I get these caught up (with the exception of some tours on which I'm a regular participant).  For me to pull this off is going to take a lot of organization on my part and I'm going to have to set deadlines throughout the month.  This event is being hosted by the lovely ladies at Nyx Book Reviews and Book, Biscuits and Tea.  Here are the details as outlined by them:

✦ This challenge runs from 1 to 31 March, 2012
✦ Sign-ups are open until 15 March 2012. After that the linky list will be closed and participation in the challenges and giveaways won't be possible for anyone who hasn't previously signed up.
✦ To sign up, just fill in the Mister Linky form below. Link to your sign up post directly, please! The Linky is the same for both our blogs, so you only have to sign up once.
✦ When you post your sign up post on your blog, either include the challenge button with your post or link it back to this article so that people know where to sign up. Thank you!
✦ Every book you received for review counts towards the challenge, both ebooks and hard copies, including all genres and lengths.
✦ You don't need to follow the two hosts in order to be able to sign up for the event (although it's appreciated), but you do have to follow us in order to be able to enter our giveaways. In order to be entered in the giveaway, simply complete the given challenge and add the link to your post in the linky list.
✦ Challenges will be posted every week on Fridays and will last throughout the week until Thursday the next week. Every challenge ends with a giveaway. To enter in the challenges and giveaways, simply add the link to your challenge post in the Linky list in the main challenge post. It will be posted on both blogs.
✦ At the end of the event we will host our Massive Giveaway. This contains tons of prizes donated by awesome authors. All you'll need to do in order to enter this giveaway is to fill in a Rafflecopter form - as simple as that. :)
✦ Most of our giveaways will be open INTERNATIONALLY but you'll find all the relevant info about each giveaway when we post the challenges.
✦ Feel free to use the #RCCleanup hashtag on Twitter for your RCC related tweets or join in the Twitter party at http://tweetchat.com/room/RCCleanup and meet lots of lovely bloggers :)

Challenge schedule:

✦ March 2 - Show Off Your Pile
✦ March 9 - Cuddle Up With a Book
