Book Nooks (15)

Book Nooks

Show us something pretty!

Commentary:  I think this is one of the most awesome reading spaces for kids that I have ever seen.  Can you imagine being a child and having a reading area like this?  I wish I had the funds to have something like this for my boys.

Location:  This is actually an area in the Kid's Republic picture book store in China

Commentary:  This is probably one of the most awesome ideas I've ever seen! Of course, you would have to have plenty of room, but who wouldn't want a nook inside a cocoon of bookshelves.  This one goes in the "someday, when I'm rich" file.  ;O)

Notice: Book Nooks

I apologize for not posting for Book Nooks this weekend.  I'm going out of town tomorrow...oooh, it's after midnight...today and it has been a hectic weekend of packing, etc., plus Bloggiesta.  What was I thinking?  I hope all you lovely Book Nook regulars will forgive me.

Commentary:  This one has the feel of a zen retreat to me.  It's slightly casual.  The natural light coming from the ceiling (skylights, I'm assuming) and plants, plus the natural wood, really contribute to the feel.  Not only a reading nook, but a musical one too (see guitar case).

Commentary:  Okay, I'm on a kick with these converted closet nooks, but this is precious! I think it's actually geared toward children (I know my boys would love it!), but it could easily be designed for an adult as well.  I had a closet in my old house that would have been perfect for something like this.  Oh well, someday...

Commentary:  First off, sorry for another late post, guys! Bad on me. =O(  Now this little nook is really something I would love.  It almost looks like it's a converted closet.  I bet this wouldn't be too hard to do, if you had someone handy around.  I really love the teal paint color too.  A relaxing and warm area to cuddle up and read!

Commentary:  Although I'm lamenting the lame Winter we've had this year, I still can't help but look forward to Spring (even though here in Nashville, Spring is not much of a respite before the sweltering heat of summer).  But even if Spring is too hot outside, why not bring it inside with this lovely nook.  Love it! Warm, cozy and bright, cheerful colors with a shelf underneath to house the immediate TBR pile (or the impossibly large pile of review books).  Gorgeous!

Commentary:  Okay, I totally freaking love this! I think this is my favorite nook of all time.  Look at the dark wood and the ornately carved ladder leading up to a cozy loft.  If I was reading in the nook and I felt sleepy, I would just climb up the ladder and take a nice nap in the loft.  And there's also a window! Really, what more could a reader want?  Just lovely.

Commentary:  Can you see the cozy window seat behind the ladder?  I absolutely love this one.  What a clever idea! I'm thinking this is either a loft type area or a small sitting area leading to the upper rooms of the house.  So awesome! And the red walls and wood of the bookshelves give it a cozy library feel.

Commentary:  I love this! The simplicity is wonderful.  If it was in my house though, it would have to be a no kid zone! Kids and white DO NOT mix. *L*

Book Nooks (6)

I missed the last two Book Nooks, so they're on number 8, but I'm only on number 6. =O)

Commentary:  This one really struck me.  It looks so cozy and the painting above the nook is so inviting.  The only thing I might change would be to have the shelf be full of books (which there wouldn't be any other choice in my house...I have so many books).

Commentary:  Oh my! Another Christmas nook.  No Christmas tree this time, but how very cozy.  Looks like this might be a nook for a reading pair...unless somebody is just really thirsty. ;O)  Love that mantle!

Commentary:  Here is another lovely Christmas nook.  I love the toile chair and the quaint stockings hanging from the mantle.  I envision this as a nook in a library with white floor to ceiling bookshelves (or built-ins) lining the rest of the walls.  Yet another nook for me to dream about!

Commentary:  As you probably noticed, I'm featuring Christmas-y book nooks in honor of the holiday season.  I love this one so much! I adore sitting by the tree at Christmas with all the lights off except for the tree.  Unfortunately, I do not have a fireplace, but this is a dream nook for me...someday. =O)
