Wicked Valentine's Read-a-Thon: My Starting Line #WWReadathon

WVRAT

A bit late since this started on the 7th, but I'm signing up although it may be futile with how busy I've been lately. I do need to finish one book this week for review on Friday so maybe reading under the umbrella of a read-a-thon will get me motivated. I'll try to update a couple of times this week, but I'm not going to do a sticky post because it goes out every day in my MailChimp feed and I don't want to bombard everyone with the same post every day.

Here's what I'll be reading:

Reading mostly just parts of for read-a-longs:

Middlesex, Jeffrey Eugenides
Outlander, Diana Gabaldon

For review on Friday:

I Am Abraham, Jerome Charyn

Also, might start my Classics Spin book, once I find out what it is.

Probably won't be able to squeeze anything else in, but we'll see.

Wonderfully Wicked Read-a-Thon #WWReadathon

STICKY POST - SCROLL DOWN FOR NEW CONTENT

From the host blog:

The Wonderfully Wicked Read-A-Thon is a time when we all get together to dedicate the days of October 11-20 to as much reading as possible. You read as much as you can in order to get yourself a little further through that huge to-read pile! We know real life gets in the way and even if you can’t participate more than one day, you’re welcome to join in on the fun!

October 11 - 20  Sign up!

My reading pile/plans...

Finish The Historian, Elizabeth Kostova
Catch up on Northanger Abbey read-a-long
Joyland, Stephen King (TuesBookTalk)
Read some of Under the Dome, Stephen King
Stoker's Manuscript, Royce Prouty
This House is Haunted, John Boyne
Season of the Witch, Natasha Mostert
Start on Colossus, David Blixt (if I have time)

I'm hoping to get in maybe 1000 pages. We shall see!

Good luck to you if you're participating!

Random Read-a-Thon: Plans and Updates

Wrap-Up:
About 50 something pages in Night Demon by Lisa Kessler
12 pages of Crime and Punishment

Told you it was going to be a busy weekend. Not much time for reading.

***********

I kind of have a busy weekend, but I'm still going to participate in this read-a-thon. You know me...I can't resist. This will segue nicely into my Spring into Horror Read-a-Thon which starts Monday.

What I'm going to read:
  • Catch up on Rebecca for TBT read-a-long
  • Catch up on Crime and Punishment for U read-a-long
  • Night Demon by Lisa Kessler
I think that's it. Don't want to get overly ambitious. ;O)  My updates (if I get around to them...I'm terrible) will appear below the image above.

Hosted by My Shelf Confessions:  Sign up by clicking the button

Guess who my Valentine is this year?  Well, not who, but what.  You guessed it! A read-a-thon! I love, love, love them, even though I never do so hot, I still love the idea, the fun, and ye ole college try.  It starts at 12am EST so a bit under an hour to go!

These are the books I'm reading right now and they're all mostly for read-a-longs so I'm not going to commit to finishing any one book.  I'm going to go with a page goal this time of 1000 pages.  Can I do it in a week?  I hope so!

Final stats = 280 pages  *bleh*

Total pages read as of 2/12/13 = 198 pages

The Waste Lands (Dark Tower #3) by Stephen King (this one I need to finish)
The Shining by Stephen King
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky  53 pages
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo  100 pages
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn  45 pages
Dune by Frank Herbert
The Arrow Chest by Robert Parry
