My mom's dog, Flencie got real sick over the past couple of weeks. She wouldn't eat, no matter what mom tried, and every time she drank water, she would vomit. We thought it might be her teeth. She was older (almost 15) and her breath was getting bad. Mom took her to the vet on Monday and the vet said she suspected kidney failure. They ran tests, gave her fluids and then sent mom home with promise of test results on Tuesday. They called Mom late Tuesday and told her Flencie's levels were the highest they had ever seen and they couldn't believe she hadn't died already. The vet had already talked with Mom about the need to put her to sleep if it was indeed kidney failure so Mom was prepared. She took her in yesterday morning and she passed away in Mom's arms at 8:45 am. She was a sweet little dog. She came to my mom quite by accident. My grandmother was very elderly and she couldn't keep Flencie so mom took her. Mom is not really a dog person. She largely prefers cats. But she came to love Flencie more and more over the years. This was very hard for her, especially considering she had to do the same with her sweet Emma last year around this time. 💔 We all loved Flencie and she will be missed so much. May she find health and happiness, and perhaps Emma, across the Rainbow Bridge. 💜
Now on to happier topics. Even though we lost one of our own, we still have so much to be thankful for, as I'm sure (and I hope) you do too. Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. Stay safe and don't eat too much.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom's dog. It's horrible to lose a pet anytime, but around the holidays is especially hard.
