Welcome to the weekly meme that celebrates the wonders and sometime hilarity of cats! Join us by posting a favorite LOL cat pic you may have come across, famous cat art or even share with us pics of your own beloved cat(s). It's all for the love of cats! Enjoy! (share your post in the Mr. Linky below)

I have some wonderful paintings to share this week. Hope you like them!

Leonard Campbell Taylor (British artist, 1874-1969) The Rain It Raineth Every Day

1600s Jacob Gerritsz Cuyp (Dutch artist,1594–1650) Four-Year-Old Girl with Cat and Fish
I think this cat finds something very funny.

Frederick Childe Hassam (American artist, 1859-1935) A Fishermans Cottage
If you blink, you might miss it!

Which is your favorite?

  1. I almost did miss the beastie in the bottom painting. Almost. Fortunately I was too busy looking out for Weeping Angels to blink!

  2. The first picture is at the same time relaxed and uptight, so British ;)

On the second, I truly wonder how the painter had the cat hold the pause lol !

The third is absolutely beautiful, I loooooove impressionism (I even visited Monet's house and gardens at Giverny).

All the pictures are gorgeous in different styles, but I think I like the first one by Taylor best. I love those paintings of pensive women, reading or thinking of something far off, or in this case, musing with a lovely cat companion in her lap. It was wonderful to have the title from the song in Twelfth Night! I can just hear Ben Kingsley singing it over the credits in the film! Thanks, Michelle, for this lovely post.

  6. Great paintings, Michelle!! I like the Cuyp the best (love that laughing cat!), but the last one is a close second.

Come to JaneReads, y'all, to see my Kitty Paws post for Cat Thursday!

  7. I love the second one, as it looks like the cat is laughing. I'm a little worried about that fish though... ;)

  9. Second cat creeps me out, but so does the girl

  10. I like the first one and not just because its by a British artist. To see a cat curled in someone's lap like this puts me in mind of our tom cat, Puck, who though sadly no longer with us used to love to lie like this.

Great to be joining you Michelle, thanks.
