On Wednesday, we had a mini-mini-challenge...fairly easy, not much effort. Well, today for our final mini-challenge we have a Mega Mini-Challenge (sort of)! The object of today's challenge will be to show something we covet and something we already cherish. And what is the object that we covet and cherish? Why it's our home libraries! Here's what I want you to do:
- Show/share what you covet...Find an image (Google images, photobucket, etc.) of a home library design that you covet. Post the image in a blog post. If you're not updating from a blog, you can just share the link to the image in the comments.
- Describe what you cherish...If you're not up to taking photos of your home library or your huge TBR stack, you can describe your home library or TBR stack, either in your blog post or in the comments along with the link to your image of your coveted library. OR....
- Show us what you cherish...For those of us who are extremely
boastfulproud of our home libraries, take some photos of your library (or use images you've already taken) and add them to your blog post, or leave links to the photo(s) in the comments.
**You must do the 1st step above and one of the 2nd or 3rd step above for your challenge to qualify**
If you do a blog post for this challenge, add the link to your post in the linky below. If you decide to just leave a comment, it should include the following:
If you do a blog post for this challenge, add the link to your post in the linky below. If you decide to just leave a comment, it should include the following:
- link to coveted home library image
- description of your home library/TBR stack OR link(s) to image(s) of your home library
- your email address, in case you win
And now I'll share with you my covet and cherish....
I had to post two coveted home libraries. I have such a huge amount of books (3000+), I was looking for designs that would hold a ton of books yet still look aesthetically pleasing. I think these two libraries fit the bill. Which one do you like better?
Now, it's time for me to show off the home library I cherish. You will probably notice books stacked in front of many of the shelves and this is because I ran out of shelves. LOL I apologize for the quality of some of these images. The cell phone camera isn't always agreeable!
The corner shelf holds my collections
of Anne Rice, Stephen King, and other
authors and/or series books
My Christmas books
Some of my non-fiction
More non-fiction
Yes, I even had to utilize my coffee table!
I'd forgotten that I could use the comment option to take part in these mini-challenges. I've been so lazy about getting a blog post ready that I've just been neglecting the mini-challenges!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I've got two links for a coveted home library. I love the classy look and the fact that they've glass coverings as well. :D
-- home lib one; home lib two.
a description of my home library -- mine isn't big at all. I have just one big showcase cupboard, for which the upper glass half is used for my books (I don't think I own more than 70-75 books); the bottom closed half of the cupboard is used for all my husband's music books and MBA books. We have plans in the future to build more shelves just for books -- we'll need them especially once my little one's book collection starts needing a proper home. :D
So, yep! That's my contribution! :)
Wow! Was just going through your home library. You have QUITE the collection!!
ReplyDeleteRisa, those are some lovely home library images. I can see why you would covet them. =O) It sounds like you have some great plans for a future home library. Maybe it will be just like one of your coveted images. Yeah, I have a big collection. I tried to cull some as I was unpacking, organizing, and shelving them, but I could only part with a select few. Yes, I have it bad. ;O)
ReplyDeleteI live in a small apartment, so most of my books after I've read them get donated to the local library.
ReplyDeleteI see you do have a overflow of books. Choosing between the two pictures of the library of my dreams I would choose #1.
boy, howdy! Do you have a lot of books or what? (now I don't feel quite so bad). It's been a busy week here, but I've still managed to get quite a bit of reading done (I finally posted an update and I'll do a wrapup post when the 'thon is over) - YOU, my friend, are doing fabulously!
ReplyDeleteOK Michelle, you asked for it, I posted my dream library if money were no object. It really would be a library of my dreams, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI have added my entry to the massive post i have had posted all week.
ReplyDeleteI really need to sort out my books, the do look like they are in a little bit of a mess =(
Wow Michelle, you have a lovely library!
ReplyDeleteHOLY CRAP Michelle, you have a lot of books! I stream lined my home library when we moved, donated so many books. I really don't have a home library anymore since most of what I read is on my Nook.
ReplyDeleteI like the first library picture but any big, beautiful home library is wonderful!
WOW that is a lot of books! I really like the first home library picture you posted that you covet. It is very neat and comfortable looking. I would love to read there.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have an amazing amount of books! I like the first picture of your dream library design as well. It's a more restful picture to look at. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all the lovely comments regarding my library. It may not be exactly the way I want it, but I love it just the same. =O)
