I wonder if it works quite the same, when the library always has a book sale going on?sawcathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05665856636670547062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9057271795590627394.post-72273966340325937582012-06-06T22:12:48.313-04:002012-06-06T22:12:48.313-04:00The idea of networking can be intimidating. I just turn to the person next to me and say, "so, what do you like to read?" Instant conversation. I did this any time I felt nervous at RT, and I met a lot of really awesome people. I'm actually glad I went by myself, because I probably would have stuck with my friend(s) and not had anywhere near as much fun.

Also, as someone who was networked "at", I think it's really important to approach these conversations with a genuine desire to learn something about the other person. I had a few people who seemed way more interested in what my website could do for them than who I am or what I might have to say. We are interested in people who are interested in us. Leave the agenda at home and be interested.Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10142090423235200822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9057271795590627394.post-76106363997475646062012-06-06T19:20:25.728-04:002012-06-06T19:20:25.728-04:00I agree with what Maria said in the comments about...I agree with what Maria said in the comments about networking being a broad term. I guess that's what's so awesome about it, is that there are so many different ways you can network, whether they be big broad gestures or just small ones like being engaged enough to go to library sales and keep up that way.

Here's my post.Ashley @ Book Labyrinthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02395484656811182553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9057271795590627394.post-17219926667548764152012-06-06T16:09:03.157-04:002012-06-06T16:09:03.157-04:00I think "networking" is a broad term, an...I think "networking" is a broad term, and everybody has to define it in their own way. I've been reading alot today, and I've seen so many "I'm really bad about networking" posts (including my own). And yet, we're all here and chatting, so that's networking! And I love my library. My kids and I are there at least once a week. They feed my habit ;)Mariahttp://novalibrarymom.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9057271795590627394.post-46478512907121283142012-06-06T14:09:58.251-04:002012-06-06T14:09:58.251-04:00I am a little miffed at my local library momentari...I am a little miffed at my local library momentarily. They are charging me $11 for a book I returned. I am not happy about it and have been disputing it for some time. It's gotten to the point where I may just pay it, even though I don't owe it, just to get back into enjoying the branch and what it has to offer. I'm still very red though so it may take some time still.fredamanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12445217103291725907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9057271795590627394.post-69565397590068593152012-06-06T13:47:55.585-04:002012-06-06T13:47:55.585-04:00Library sales are fun!
